What is TINNS?

The Technology and Innovation Scheme (TINNS) is a government initiative by SME Mauritius to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) adopt advanced technologies, automate processes, and transition to sustainable practices. This grant encourages businesses to innovate, reduce environmental impact, and stay competitive.

Key Objectives:

  • Enable SMEs to invest in automation, software, and green technologies.

  • Build tech-integrated, sustainable businesses for long-term growth.


What Does TINNS Cover?

The scheme funds a wide range of technology and innovation projects, including:

Note: Pure trading activities are excluded.


TINNS Grant Amounts

  • General SMEs: 80% of project costs up to Rs 150,000.

  • Young/Women Entrepreneurs (<29 years): Full grant up to Rs 50,000 (for non-ICT equipment).

⚠️ Important Notes:

  1. Total grants across schemes are capped at Rs 150,000 per SME.

  2. Funding amounts may adjust to accommodate more beneficiaries.


Eligibility Criteria

Your SME qualifies for TINNS if you:

  • Are registered in Mauritius with a valid trade license.

  • Have an annual turnover ≤ Rs 50 million.

  • Operate in value-creating sectors (no pure trading).

  • Have been active for ≥6 months from BRN issuance date.

🔁 Reapplication Rule: SMEs can reapply for grants if investing in new technologies not previously funded.
